Mary L. Waltari

Before becoming an attorney, Mary worked in the securities and investment banking industry, primarily in management positions. After graduating from University of San Diego Law School, Magna Cum Laude, Mary began her legal career practicing in business and securities litigation. After ten years, she decided to change her focus to the estate planning field. She enjoys helping clients through the process of planning for their families, and especially for those family members with special needs. She practices in estate planning, first and third party special needs trusts as well as conservatorships. Mary is a member of the Special Needs Alliance, a select group of nationwide attorneys committed to helping individuals with disabilities and the families and professionals who serve them. She has lobbied in Washington, D.C. for legislation to allow greater access to special needs trusts for individuals. Mary is a frequent lecturer on special needs trusts and conservatorships to both professional and parent organizations. She has been active in promoting and coaching adaptive sports and currently assists in an adaptive horse therapy program.
