Lily A. Fitzpatrick - Paralegal
Lillian (Lily) has been with Battaglia & Waltari since 2013, assisting with special needs trust administration, conservatorships, estate planning, probate and trust administration. She previously worked in the legal field for over 30 years with broad experience as a paralegal and legal secretary in the areas of plaintiff's personal injury with an emphasis in construction third party actions, vehicle accidents, and workers' compensation law for both applicant and defense claims. Lily graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the College of Arts & Letters at San Diego State University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and has been a notary public since 2008. She is a member of the San Diego Paralegal Association and the National Notary Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time hiking with her family and walking her dog with her husband.
Marlene G. Irigoyen - Paralegal
Marlene graduated from Southwestern Community College with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies. She developed a passion for law while volunteering with Catholic Charities Immigration Services and has since worked in the legal field for more than five years where she has garnered significant experience in Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate. Marlene joined Battaglia & Waltari in 2020 and now specializes in Conservatorships and Probate law. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and a Notary Public. Marlene enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, and just being outdoors.
Deborah L. White - Paralegal
Deborah joined the legal field after a long career helping seniors with their long term care needs. She previously served as a professional fiduciary in Arizona, specializing in the needs of the elderly and disabled adults, retiring her license in 2006. Deborah also served with the Veteran Association as a Federal Fiduciary and Representative Payee for their most challenged veterans and is a former member of the Certified Guardianship Association and Professional Fiduciary Association. She now focuses on Trusts and Estates and brings her experience preparing trust accountings and petitions for the firm. Deborah lives in the quirky town of Ocean Beach and enjoys painting, cooking and taking her Lhasa Apso for runs on the beach.
Aree L. Burke
Aree graduated from San Diego State University with a BS degree in Finance. Aree has been a stay-at-home mom, school volunteer, and Girl Scout troop leader for the past twenty years. For the past ten years, she has also worked part time as legal assistant for Attorney Dennis Burke who practices workers compensation law. Previous to working as a Legal assistant, Aree worked in the financial sector. She enjoys hiking, tennis, cooking and spending time with her family.
Canyon - Canine Resources
Canyon is an Aussiedoodle, originally from Florida. He became a member of Battaglia & Waltari in June of 2019 and is involved with all aspects of the day to day management of the firm. Canyon checks on everyone at the firm to make sure they are hard at work and to see if anyone is offering a belly rub or a cookie. When he is not at the office, Canyon enjoys fetch, walks, swimming, and nap time. He also competes at dog agility competitions on the weekends.
